Born in Chisinau (Moldova) and now living in Caerphilly county borough Iaroslav Hmelnitki graduated from the College of fine Arts “A. Plamadeala” (Chisinau, republic of Moldova).

Since 2004 he has been working on a series of marine sceneries, animal portraits, still life paintings, reproductions and has had a number of well received exhibitions throughout European Union.

“I paint in oil and I am interested in painting woods, beaches, flowers and animals”.

Iaroslav’s work is often described as impressionistic and is influenced by the authentic Welsh nature.

He finds his inspiration in British nature: “My artistic exploration of Wales, England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are the greatest joy in my life, and through my paintings, I hope to share some of my emotional experiences of this unique part of the world”…
